The aim of the American wind energy Association is to promote the use of wind power to the maximum extent possible through various means such as communication, media, and education. According to the American Wind Energy Association's Executive Director, the current year happens to the third consecutive year where growth has taken which has been more than the preceding year. This remarkable and outstanding performance has been due to a robust demand, favorable economics and consistent federal production tax credit for wind energy (as opposed to the inconsistent tax laws pertaining to this sector in the past). As per the American Wind Energy association, it is wind energy which is generating nearly one hundred gig watts of electricity in the world - this happens to almost equal to none thousand four hundred coal power plants. Wind energy technology was responsible for nearly one third of the total new electrical generating capacity installed in the US, in the year 2007 -in this year, no new nuclear plants or solar plants have been set up. According to the American Wind Energy Association, two years back, nearly one third of the total wind energy generation capacity (of 16.8 gig watts) was installed in
that year - this amounted to an investment of nearly ten billion US dollars. All this generating capacity is responsible for power being supplied to nearly half a crore homes in the US. As per the American Wind Energy Association, the pace is increasing rapidly, of course so long as the Production Tax Credits sanctioned by Congress stays in place and are not discontinued like it was for a year in 2003. As per another statistics of the American Wind Energy Association, the amount of electricity that was generated by wind power increased by nearly thirty percent in the year 2006. The American Wind Energy association says that Clipper is one of the companies which has benefited with the increasing wind energy plants being set up and the importance that is being given to wind energy. This company has got a significant presence in Europe, has an office in UK and a manufacturing plant in the Cedar Rapids -however, investors in the USA should not get overly excited about investing in this scrip since although it has been listed on the London Stock Exchange , so far, it has not been listed on the US bourses. The American Wind Energy Association says that Clipper made a public announcement in the beginning of 2008 that it has signed a contract to deliver more than one hundred and fifty of its two and a half megawatt wind turbines generators to UPC Wind, a Newton based company. |
